Lea County Sheriff's Office Honor Guard Coin
The Lea County Sheriff's Office, headquartered in Lovington, New Mexico, is dedicated to safeguarding the lives and property of its residents. Under the leadership of Sheriff Corey Helton since 2018, the office emphasizes professionalism, community engagement, and continuous improvement in law enforcement services. The department operates several divisions to effectively serve the community, including patrol, criminal investigations, and special services. The Patrol Division is responsible for maintaining community safety, crime reduction, traffic enforcement, and responding to emergency calls. The Criminal Investigations Division handles major cases such as deaths, serious assaults, sex crimes, child abuse, kidnappings, and robberies. Additionally, the Special Services Division oversees programs like Project Lifesaver, which assists in locating individuals with conditions such as Alzheimer's or autism who may wander from home.
Through its commitment to duty and community, the Lea County Sheriff's Office strives to maintain a safe and secure environment for all its citizens.
Dix Hills Fire Department Coin
The Dix Hills Fire District and Fire Department are dedicated to protecting life and property through exceptional fire, rescue, and emergency medical services. With a strong commitment to training, innovation, and leadership, the department has grown from a small volunteer-driven organization into a vital emergency response unit serving the community.
In its early years, Dix Hills lacked fire protection, relying only on limited state resources. Recognizing the need for local fire services, residents led by Eric Hamilton established the Dix Hills Fire Company in 1947, acquiring a retired fire truck through community fundraising. Despite challenges like limited resources and a primitive alarm system, the department persevered. By 1950, volunteers built the first firehouse on Deer Park Avenue. In 1951, after battling a devastating brush fire, the Dix Hills Fire District was created, providing tax-supported funding for modernization. The 1956 opening of a new headquarters and expansion of municipal water services strengthened fire protection efforts.
Today, the Dix Hills Fire Department continues to honor its history while advancing its mission of excellence in emergency response. The dedication of its founding members remains an enduring inspiration for future generations of firefighters.

GIVING BACK
The First Responders Children's Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting the children of first responders who have been killed or injured in the line of duty. Established in the wake of the September 11 attacks, the foundation provides financial assistance in the form of college scholarships, mental health resources, and emergency grants to families facing hardship. Beyond education, the organization also funds programs that promote the well-being of first responder families, such as disaster relief initiatives, bereavement support, and holiday toy drives for children. By honoring the sacrifices made by first responders, the foundation ensures that their children receive the support they need to thrive, carrying on their parents' legacy of service and dedication.
